Being a Baptist Church, our primary form of leadership comes from our church meetings, where anyone who wants a say in how the church works, gets together to pray and discuss, as we discern how God would have us go about being church.

To serve and support this meeting, there is a full-time employed Pastor and four appointed voluntary Deacons. The Pastor and Deacons together make up the Trustees.

Rev David J Wheatley has served at King's Community Church since its inception as Pastor and Lead Elder.

David graduated from Regents Park (formerly Elim Bible College) in 1989 and was ordained in 1991. He has previously pastored 2 churches, 1 in the West Midlands and another in Hertfordshire. 

David is married to Christine and they have 3 children and 6 Grandchildren. Christine has served with David throughout his ministry fulfilling many roles. Christine is presently part of the Tea Toast and Toddlers, Leads Sunday School is also a trustee of the Rehoboth Children's Ministry in Kenya and the founder of King's Community Church's Prison Ministry.

David's vision for ministering is to enable everyone to reach their full potential in God.

Richard currently serves King's Community Church as Deacon and Treasurer. Married to Christine, 2 sons complete their family. Richard has been a Christian since his late teens having been bought up in a Christian family.

Now retired, Richard spent most of his working life in various aspects of financial management. 


Colin currently serves King's Community Church as Deacon. Married to Wendy with 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren. A Christian for many years, Colin is involved in a wide variety of Church activities and is particularly interested in Home and Overseas Mission.

Now retired, Colin spent his working life as an electrician.
