The Church's Vision Statement is:

"To glorify God : seeing lives changed through the power of God, the declaration of His Word and through Holy living and example"

As a Member of the Baptist Union of Great Britain the Church subscribes to theUnion's Declaration of Principle:

  • That our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, is the sole and absolute authority in all matters pertaining to faith and practice, as revealed in the Holy Scriptures, and that each church has liberty, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to interpret and administer His laws.
  • That Christian Baptism is the immersion in water into the name of the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit, of those who have professed repentance towards God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ who 'died for our sins according to the Scriptures; was buried, and rose again on the third day'.
  •  That it is the duty of every disciple to bear personal witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to take part in the evangelisation of the world.

Members are expected to be in agreement with the fundamental beliefs ofthe Christian Faith as follows:

  • There is one God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit: the Holy Trinity.
  • Holy Scripture is divinely inspired and has final authority over us.
  • God created the universe for His own glory; since the fall, the universe has been subjected to death.
  • God created humanity in His own image; since our rebellion and fall, all people are subject to God's wrath and condemnation.
  • Our Lord Jesus Christ was born of the Virgin Mary, and is truly God, and truly man. He was sinless in His character, and perfect in His obedience to the Father. He was resurrected bodily from death in accordance with the prophesies contained in Scripture and ascended into heaven, where He now reigns.
  • We are redeemed from our sins only through our Lord Jesus Christ's death in our place. Through His death on the cross, Christ showed us God's love, satisfied God's justice, and appeased God's wrath once and for all time, on behalf of sinners.
  • The work of the Holy Spirit is necessary to grant us spiritual life, to sanctify us and to empower us to serve God.
  • True spiritual life begins with repentance from sin and saving faith in Jesus Christ, which are gifts of the Holy Spirit.
  • The empowering or filling of the Holy Spirit, as a conscious experience, is available to all believers for their work in their ministry today, including the exercise of all Biblical Spiritual gifts.
  • The Church is the universal Body of all who are in Christ from every generation, and is expressed in each local congregation of believers.
  • There are two sacraments, which are believers' baptism by immersion and Communion or The Lord's Supper.
  • The future visible and personal return of Our Lord Jesus Christ is certain.
  •  The redeemed will inherit eternal life and the unsaved will be eternally lost.

In the outworking together of our Christian Faith, asmembers of this Church and of the Body of Christ we will seek to:

  • Worship the One True God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • Witness to the truth and power of the Word of God.
  • Work to the glory and extension of the Kingdom of God.
  • Discover and understand the Will of God through personal and corporate study of His Word and through regular and persistent prayer.
  • Demonstrate the fullness of the gospel of God in word and deed.
  • Identify and encourage the giftings that God desires for each one of His disciples.
  • Meet people's needs in the power of God through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
  • Provide and develop a place where all can express themselves freely under God's authority and grow to maturity in their faith in Christ.
